Darjeeling Tea blend is considered to be the "champagne of tea". Darjeeling Tea is produced during the end of February to early March, through to December. The 1st Flush is in early March and the 2nd Flush is in June.
The flavor and taste profile of Darjeeling Tea is muscatel in character and has almost a perfumed taste. The 1st Flush appears to lighter once steeped compared to the 2nd Flush. The larger leaf grades produce the best Darjeeling Tea. The smaller leaves tend to loose the distinctive muscatel character. This all time favorite tea is at its best when sipped as a splendid afternoon tea.
Darjeeling Tea is so highly regarded, however it is considered to be "pricey", many packers and blenders (with rather questionable ethics), blend this tea with other lower grade tea and still refer to them as "authentic" Darjeeling Tea, however be aware!
